Bitcoin price slips below 50-day average after $635m ETF outflow
The Bitcoin price slipped below its 50-day moving average on Friday. That ended a 66-day run above the line.
Cryptoticker reports that bitcoin traded near $80,806 on Saturday morning. The 50-day average sits at $81,807. Friday’s close of $81,328 finished $459 below it. The streak ran from 18 August to 22 October.
ETF outflows pressure the Bitcoin price
US spot bitcoin ETFs recorded outflows above $635 million in a single day, according to SoSoValue. On Friday, $431 million in long positions were liquidated around $81,568 after a Nasdaq pullback. The next ETF data is due on Monday evening.
The wider picture is mixed. The 20-day average is $82,560, and the price sits about 2.1 percent below it. The 100-day average is $75,291. The 200-day average is $72,900. The price remains 7.3 percent above the first and 10.8 percent above the second. The 24-hour range ran from $80,455 to $81,939.
Key levels to watch
Moving averages are simple tools. They smooth past prices and give traders reference points. A close below one does not predict the next move. It does show that buyers have lost some momentum for now.
Traders will watch $80,455 as near-term support. The 50-day line at $81,807 now acts as resistance from below. The 2026 peak was $86,490 on 5 October. The yearly low was $58,566 on 1 July. Cryptoticker treats the break as a short-term trading event, not a change in the medium-term trend.
Mining difficulty is estimated to rise about 5.55 percent around 29 October, at block 973,728. The previous adjustment, on 16 October, was about 5.92 percent. That is an estimate from mempool.space and can shift.
This is a fresh development. Earlier this week we reported that bitcoin stalled near $82,000 as ETF money left. Friday’s close turned that stall into a break of a closely watched trend line.
