Bitcoin Whale Accumulation Grows as Price Slips Below $65,000

Bitcoin whale accumulation has climbed to a six-month high even as the price slipped below $65,000. On-chain data suggest the market’s largest holders are buying the dip while smaller traders sell into it.

Bitcoin traded near $63,900 on Tuesday, after four straight days above $65,000. The pullback rattled short-term holders. It did little, however, to slow the biggest wallets on the network.

What Bitcoin whale accumulation signals

Bitcoin whale accumulation is often read as a confidence gauge. The number of wallets holding at least 10,000 BTC has risen to 90, a six-month peak, up six wallets in eight weeks. Analysts at Santiment flagged the shift.

The buying is broad among large players. Since late July, wallets holding between 10 and 10,000 BTC have added coins worth about $1.5 billion. Long-term holders have absorbed roughly 380,000 BTC over the past month, a sign of patient conviction rather than quick trading.

Santiment framed the pattern plainly. Big holders accumulate while retail sells, a divergence that historically tilts the odds toward a move higher. The firm put the balance of probabilities above $70,000 rather than below $60,000, though it stressed nothing is certain.

Two clouds still hang over sentiment. A Coldcard hardware-wallet exploit drained roughly $120 million in bitcoin, reviving security fears. Continued delays to the US Clarity Act have also left the regulatory picture murky for institutions weighing larger positions.

Support levels are drawing close attention. Traders view the $60,000 to $65,000 band as the key macro floor for this cycle. Holding it, many argue, could set a base for a stronger run into 2027 if buying pressure persists.

For now the tug of war between conviction and caution defines the tape. The strongest hands are adding, but macro and security risks keep the outlook open. Readers can compare this week’s action with our earlier note on bitcoin breaking past $65,000.
