Ethereum ETF Inflows Outpace Bitcoin as Ether Leads

Ethereum ETF inflows have outpaced Bitcoin again in 2026. Institutional money keeps rotating toward ether. The shift marks a notable change in the crypto market mood.

In July, US spot Ethereum ETFs drew about $365 million in net inflows. That was their strongest month of the year. Over the same stretch, Bitcoin ETFs took in far less.

Why Ethereum ETF inflows are rising

Ethereum ETF inflows have now topped Bitcoin on several weeks this year. Analysts point to growing appetite for ether exposure. Some investors see room for catch-up gains.

The wider backdrop stays firm. Bitcoin has hovered around $65,000 in recent sessions. Steady prices have kept sentiment cautious but constructive.

Regulation has helped the mood. The GENIUS Act clarified rules for dollar-backed stablecoins. It let regulated institutions issue and custody digital dollars.

That clarity matters to large allocators. Clear rules lower perceived risk. Lower risk can unlock bigger, steadier flows.

Ether appeal rests partly on its network. It underpins much of decentralised finance and tokenisation. Investors betting on that usage want direct exposure.

Caution still applies. Flows can reverse as quickly as they arrive. On-chain data suggests the market has not fully settled.

The trend is worth watching into the autumn. If ether keeps leading, issuers may expand their offerings. For background, see our report on how Ethereum led a recent crypto rebound.

The trend also reflects a maturing market. Early crypto flows chased quick price swings. Today large allocators think in longer horizons. Diversifying beyond Bitcoin is part of that shift. Ether gives exposure to a different set of uses. Still, both assets remain volatile by any measure. Investors should size positions with that reality in mind.

Product choice is widening for ordinary investors too. Brokerages now list spot funds for both major assets. That access lowers the barrier to entry. It also spreads risk across a broader base of holders. Competition among issuers could push fees lower over time.
