HSC results 2026 delayed to 31 October as 1.27 million await

The HSC results 2026 will now be published on 31 October, two days later than planned. The Daily Star reported the change on 28 October.

The results were first due on 29 October. Officials have not given a reason for the delay in the reports we reviewed.

What we know about the HSC results 2026

Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka, announced the new date. Prothom Alo carried his announcement on 27 October.

The Daily Star adds that the results will be announced at 11 a.m. at the International Mother Language Institute in Dhaka. Students can also check them at their institutions and online.

A total of 1,270,583 candidates registered for the HSC and equivalent examinations. They sat under 11 education boards. That figure includes regular and irregular candidates.

Why a two-day wait matters

Two days sounds small. For families, it is not. HSC grades shape university applications, scholarship hopes and, for many, the first real career decision.

Admission seasons depend on clear dates. Repeated shifts leave students unable to plan. Coaching centres, universities and parents all adjust around the announcement.

The date has also shifted before. Earlier reports pointed to a mid-October window and then to late October, before 29 October was set. Each change adds to the strain on candidates, and families have been waiting a long time already.

What students should do

Check only official channels. Use your board’s website, your institution or the education board portals. Avoid links sent by strangers on social media.

Fake result pages are common on the day. Never share personal details with an unofficial site.

We will report the pass rate and the number of top-grade students once the boards publish them. For other national news, see our earlier Bangladesh report on the Cyber Protection Act amendment.

Fact basis: The Daily Star (28 October 2026) and Prothom Alo (27 October 2026). No official reason for the delay had been published at the time of writing.
